Television Sketches
After seven successful years on national radio Ethel & Albert moved practically seamlessly over to television in 1950, becoming an instant hit on The Kate Smith Evening Hour, a popular variety show on NBC. Peg and her co-star Alan Bunce performed two 10 minute comedy sketches, live, every week, after which NBC offered my mother her own half hour series, whch went out at 7:30pm, just after I Love Lucy. Here's a taste of Peg's early Kate Smith Hour sketches.
